From 2023 to master the city's six types of greenhouse gas emissions! The Work Plan for compiling an Inventory of greenhouse gases at the Urban Level in Shanghai was released. On September 29, Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment issued the Work Plan for the COMPILATION of Shanghai URBAN GREENHOUSE Gas Inventory (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan").

According to the Programme, District compiled on year within their respective administrative jurisdictions according to requirements of the relevant energy activities, industrial production, agriculture, land use change and forestry, waste disposal, and other areas of the five major emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), total carbon fluoride (PFCs) and sulfur hexafluoride (SF6 ) and other six greenhouse gas inventories to form a general report of the district-level greenhouse gas inventory and a sub-field report of the five fields. In terms of work objectives, the plan states that in 2022, all districts will be encouraged to start compiling district-level greenhouse gas inventories. In 2023, build a stable and efficient working mechanism, comprehensively establish the district-level greenhouse gas inventory and update it year by year, accurately grasp the greenhouse gas emissions of each administrative jurisdiction, and provide a solid foundation for the fine management of carbon emissions.
