A few days ago, the Yangtze River Delta Ecological and Green Integrated development Demonstration Zone carbon peak implementation Plan was formally implemented. The Plan aims to provide replicable and scalable experience for exploring integrated and coordinated implementation of the carbon peak target, and provide strong support for the implementation of the Yangtze River Delta integration and dual carbon national strategy.

The Plan clarified the overall requirements, with the main principles of "integration and coordination, systematic promotion, simultaneous development of growth and storage, demonstration and leadership, and joint governance of the industry". It proposed that by 2025, on the basis of accomplishing the goals issued by the superiors in two districts and one county (Qingpu, Shanghai, Wujiang, Jiangsu, Jiashan, Zhejiang), Strive to reduce the energy intensity of the demonstration area by about 15% and carbon emission intensity by more than 20% compared with 2020; By 2030, China will take the lead in reaching a peak in carbon and steadily declining, laying a solid foundation for achieving carbon neutrality.

The Plan specifies the implementation of classified demonstration actions in key areas. We will focus on implementing carbon emission reduction measures in key sectors and industries such as industry, energy, construction, transportation and ecology, and carry out actions to integrate green and low-carbon industries, clean and low-carbon energy, and green and livable and low-carbon buildings, so as to foster and develop a number of demonstration benchmarks and models for integrated green and low-carbon innovation.
